ABOUT Marcel
Marcel started his career working in a variety of finance roles at Air Products and Chemicals Inc., including in mergers and acquisitions, before moving to KPMG as a management consultant, working with a variety of clients across Europe focusing on finance transformation and performance improvement.
Subsequent to that he worked at Pan-European incubator and accelerator GorillaPark where he was involved in the fundraising efforts as well as investments in startup companies, including companies like Vibrant Media Inc, Vizuri (sold to Atos) and GP Bullhound.
He has worked at a commercial subsidiary of the BBC that was set up to be the vehicle of choice for the commercialization of all technology developed by the BBC. As CFO and member of the Board of Directors, played a crucial role in building the organization and having it recognized as a ‘center of excellence’ in Intellectual Property management within the wider BBC. Investments included the very first mobile digital cameras, used to report from the sidelines of sporting events, on Formula 1 racing cars and many other applications since. He has been involved in setting up, managing and investing in a wide range of technology startups. A Dutch national, he is based in the UK, and speaks 5 languages.
